Dorreka Faulkner and Debra Dobkins – Co-Chair Girl Power and New board member Dorreka.
Dorreka is a Gainesville native where she graduated from East Hall High School.  She received a Bachelors and Masters degree in Human Services Delivery & Administration at the University of North Georgia. Throughout her career, Dorreka has been recognized for her professionalism, outstanding leadership, and commitment to advancing opportunities for girls and women. She is the founder of Girls Unlimited, LLC where her goal is to provide a well-rounded program to young girls in the Gainesville (Hall County) area with mentorship, educational events and cultural experiences. As the Co-Chair for Girl Power 2021, Dorreka is excited to continue to serve girls in the community and fill their toolkits to be successful individuals in their communities.
Dr. Dobkins is Dean of the Women’s College and Professor of English at Brenau University. She had dedicated her career to advocate for women’s advancement. Dr. Dobkins was educated at University of Georgia and Agnes Scott College. When asked about Girl Power she said, “I am passionate about Girl Power because it provides an exciting opportunity for WomenSource to educate, empower, and encourage middle and high school girls. Through this program, we inspire and invest in the potential of our future leaders. Participants love the event, and we can’t wait for them to experience our first virtual Girl Power gathering.”
