Join is us for the last lunch of the year. Overhead Cover, established 1 1/2 years ago, offers showers, meals, and supplies, including heaters and propane in cold weather, to homeless residents in Gainesville. Located near two homeless encampments, the initiative operates twice a month, providing additional support such as garbage collection and addressing overall camp cleanliness. Leveraging Joe’s law enforcement background, the program assists with probation and parole issues, family reconnection, employment, and collaboration with other agencies. Monthly medical visits from NGMC’s Family Medicine resident address residents’ health needs. Overhead Cover not only provides essential services but also strives to improve communication with the legal system, assist in job placement, and foster connections with families and other relevant organizations.
